Pihitia Station

This week we had a lot on and a lot to write about and I decided to choose when I went to Pihitia Station. It was really cool at the farm it was fun, but the best thing was we didn't have to do priorities at all.

So the first thing I did was line up to get on the bus. Once I was on the bus I was ready to go to Pihitia Station I just needed to wait. I sat with Bay and Wolfe. We did some dumb things on the way there, like shouting out DOG!!!! when we saw one. Once me, Wolfe and Bay were there we went into our class lines, then one teacher and one person at the farm took us over. The first thing we had a look at was the vehicles they use on the farm. They were the vehicles you usually see on a farm like a quad bike, a dirt bike, a ute, a buggy and a tractor. Then we got to go on the vehicles apart from the ute.

The next place we went to was my favourite part of the trip, which was the drone. So they turned on the drone and off it went.  It also had a TV to see what the drone was seeing in real-time. The further it went the laggier it was to see everything on the TV over time the drone came across a person under a quad bike but as soon as I saw it I knew it was a setup. We headed over to the next stop which when we chased sheep. We chased the sheep into a small gateway so they could get weighed and if they were over 30 kgs then I would be having mutton for dinner, which meant they were going to the butcher. The next stop was just about shearing sheep and what their wool gets made into.  Anything from carpet to surfboards!

The next stop was very interesting it was about pest trapping and how the traps work. But first, we looked at the pest skulls. The first one was a rat, the next one was a cat, then the next one a stoat and the last one possum. The traps they used were the Dock 3000, a cat trap and the one I can't remember the name of. The last thing I did at the stop was guessed what that bird sound was but I wasn't good at it. The last two stops were the butcher and milking a cow but I didn't find these ones interesting. So then we lined up to go back in the bus and back to school.  Overall it was a fantastic trip and I really liked it. 

LTP Cardboard Nation

 This week for LTP I did cardboard nation. At first I didn't know what to make in cardboard nation but then I was going to make a mask and the mask was mask of Uka Uka from CrAsH BaNdIcOoT.

So after lunch me Wolfe, Bay and Tay went to cardboard nation for LTP. When we all were sitting on the mat Tay didn't want to go to cardboard nation he wanted to go to loose parts and loose parts is the new activity which replace makey makey because Koka Terri left because of maternity leave. So we got started and I didn't know what to make but then I just made a mask. First I got some cardboard and cut it out into a mask like shape. Then I cut out some eye hole then I made some teeth and drew a mouth. Then I decorated it with fabric and drawing then I was done.

The final thing I did with my mask was put hole for string and then put in the string. I went to check what Bay and Wolfe made. Wolfe had made a mask to and Bay had made a mask like the mask for COVID 19. Then Wolfe said that my mask look like Uka Uka from Crash Bandicoot and it did.

LTP the Beach

 This week for LTP no one could do the usual thing for LTP because it was very sunny so we went down to the beach. I really liked it because I don't get to go down to the beach that much at school. 

So after lunch we all wondered what we were going to do for LTP. Once the bell rang we were going to go to Makey Makey again but that's when we found out we were going to the beach. When we got to the beach the first thing me and Bay did was make a sand chair and I was going to make a little pool of water to cool down your feet. I dug a hole right next to the the chair Bay was making it so you could sit in the chair and cool down your feet. Also, Wolfe was making a ramp right next to us but we didn't really care. 

After a while we finally finished the pool and the chair it also was very comfortable. Me and Bay were still needing one more thing for the pool, more water. But we were waiting for the tide for more water, but we needed to go which sad because it was nearly perfect but we lined up and walked back to school.

Automata

This week on Wednesday, I made an Automata as a project. An Automata is a cardboard toy which turns one cam to make another cam move.  A cam is a cardboard circle.  I took a cardboard box from home and with the help of some friends, we decorated it.  

So the process to make it was, first start with cutting the bottom of the box out, then cutting out circles (cams).  This was really hard because the cardboard was really thick. We had to use a craft knife as the scissors weren't working very well. Once we had cut all the cams it was time to stick them onto the skewers. When me and Wolfe put the cams on the skewers we then hot glued them to the skewers to keep them from falling off. After that we put three holes in the box for the skewers to go into, before we put the top skewer in we hot glued a straw to keep the top skewers spinning properly.

Once all of that was done Wolfe drew a frog that when you spin it it dies. He glued it on and we were almost done the last thing we needed to do was decorate it. The first thing Wolfe did to decorate it was write a sign what says A Frog's Life. As soon as he finished him and I drew some trees, bushes and a pond. Then we got some cardboard and cut out the trees and bushes and a pond we stuck them onto some cardboard and then we were finally done.

LTP Junky Monkey

 This week for LTP I did Junky monkey, which I found very fun. it was really fun because I got to take parts off parts to make new parts and even toys or a creation. I enjoy making new things out of old things.

So instead of going out and lining up we just stayed inside because junky monkey is in room 3 and I'm in room 3. so First my teacher did the roll on whos here, then we got into it. First I look at a few toys from last week but then I saw the most funniest toy in the world in was a barbie with a bimbo head and IT WAS HILARIOUS. after that I went looking for something to build. Then I had it I was going to make a trophy stand but with a dog head.

Later on I found the barbie to the barbie body and I made it one with my trophy stand. when I was screwing the head on it became pack up time. I still kept screwing the head on but then I got a WIP card to keep it safe for tomorrow. then when everyone went back to their class it was home time.

Math Whizz Learning

For this week of learning I wanted to share this thing called Maths Whizz which I have been doing for two weeks now. I wanted to show it because I think it's pretty cool and I like maths so here it is.

Maths Whizz is a cool website made for doing maths but it's fun maths. It turns it into a step by step learning thing by showing you the basics then you do it but I skip the step by step because I'm good at maths. At the beginning of Maths Whizz you are given a test on which tests your skills to see what level you're at. The one thing you shouldn't do is get someone to help you then your work will get way too hard and then you will just play games and get help on Maths whizz, so don't do that. Maths Whizz also measures the progress you make and will gradually get harder. 

Maths Whizz also lets you make your own avatar which is cool and lets you choose a theme. The two themes are space and jungle. After play for 15 minutes you unlock the playroom. The playroom lets make your own Maths Whizz room on which you can decorate by using credits.

So that's what Maths Whizz is all about.

Week 3 blog post (LTP) Planet Construction

This weeks blog post is about LTP like last week. This time I went to Planet Construction what I thought

 was not so fun, but now that I tried is not so bad but really fun. So let's get into this weeks blog post.

So beginning of the week is now fun because of LTP time and because it's my BIRTHDAY tomorrow

 (4.8.20). So first I got ready for Makey Makey but when I found how long the line was it was very big. It 

had like 50 PEOPLE, I could not get in when, only 27 people could get in. So then all my friends were

 going over to planet construction so I went over too. When I got in I went and did duplo but I wasn't making any thing dumb I WAS MAKING A GIANT TOWER MADE OUT OF DUPLO!!! When I started to make it, it was hard because it kept falling so me and Wolfe needed to make something to keep it stable. In the end it turned out to be pretty small, because it needed a lot of blocks at the bottom to keep it stable.

It kept breaking because it wasn't stable enough so we broke it and gave the rest of the pieces to Tay. The

 second Tay took the pieces it was pack up time. So it was a lot of blocks to pack up and it took like

 2min to pack up in the end, and in that time I learned that Planet Construction is very fun. Once everything was packed up we went back to class.

Week 2 blog post (LTP)

Last weeks blog post I talked about LTP. This week I’m talking about what

happened in LTP time. So Monday 27 of July was the first time I EVER GOT TO

DO LTP!!! I’ve never actually done LTP because the year I went into nui

syndicate they made that wai gets LTP EVERY DAY!!! Now there's LTP IN NUI

SYNDICATE because there are 3 syndicates now wai, nui and moana but that

all changes.

So of course I went makey makey but everyone had to line up at the classroom

they wanted to go to, and what every classroom you go to is a class you stay at

for the rest week for LTP. All my friends went to makey makey so I went with

Tay,Wolfe & Bay. Tay got the Makey Makey and I went and got my

chromebook. I made Tay into a human drum by tapping his hand is made

bongo noise, then a pacman Controller to play pacman but then Wolfe wanted

a turn but apparently he's allergic to Play-Doh, because we used Play-

Doh to make the controller. After awhile Bay and Wolfe turned Bays gumboot

into a gumboot power controller for snake.

After a while some others needed some help so we helped them out.  Then we

go told that it was time to pack up LTP to get ready for home time because it

was at the end of the day. So we packed up the makey makey and gave it to

the teacher but then we had to put the Play-Doh. When everything was packed

up we went back to our class room for the end of the day.

T3 Week 1 (PBL)

For this week I want to talk about a new learning style, Learning through Play.

Learning through play is LTP which is what the little kids get to do EVERY DAY!!! But because of this we get it to but ONLY ON ONE DAY which is annoying. So the their my introduction.

On Tuesday 21 of July we got to see what LTP activity we could, these are the 4 activities we could do planet construction, makey makey, monkey junction and cardboard nation. We first started at monkey junction, so what's monkey junction all about well I going to tell you so it's when you get old toys and take

them apart and rebuild them into new things. Once that was done we moved on to makey makey but I already had seen the video because I had seen it at discovery. So it's about conducting electricity by taping thing just will alligator clips which make sound or you can make a controller.

The next one we moved to was planet construction. Planet construction is about constructing amazing buildings and doing challenges with lego and other pieces. The last one we went to is cardboard nation. Cardboard nation is about when you use cardboard to make things out of cardboard but you have to

measure it first try because they don’t so much cardboard. So then we went to all 4 of the LTP groups we went into class and and packed up for the end of the day.

Friday Discovery Makey Makey Part 2

This week for Discovery, I did Makey Makey again, but for this week I did something incredible. So at first I was told that it was being run by another teacher, but what I didn’t know is that it was in the classroom she ran, so when I found out I raced down to Room 1. I got my chromebook, Makey Makey, a BANANA and then I needed to find a buddy. For this week there was a lot of little kids so I had to buddy up with a little kid, but I can’t remember her name.

This week I was very happy because I had a BANANA, so we did what we

needed to do to get the banana making a sound. I taught my buddy the basics

on what I did, when I was learning how to do this. We got tin foil and pencils to

make a piano.  Then we plugged one alligator clip at the bottom of the pencil

and the other clip at the top.  It made a piano SOUND!! 

Then I realised that I knew how to make a tin foil drum.  So I took one alligator

clip off the pencil and clipped it into the tin foil.   Then tapped it with the pencil

and it worked, it made a bongo drum sound!  I got the banana, then clipped one

alligator clip at the bottom and one at the top, and I held one alligator clip.  We

tapped the banana, and it worked!! I made a bongo drum noise. 

We got some playdough, because my buddy wanted to try it out.  So, we

clipped one  alligator clip into the playdough and held one clip.  And this made a

bongo sound too!  Then we made a mini band by tapping together the banana

and the playdough, making drum noises. But then the bell rang and we had to

pack up.

Friday Discovery Makey Makey

This Week for Discovery I did Makey Makey what is the new thing in Room 3 and it seemed pretty cool.

All my friends wanted to do just dance but I did Makey Makey. First we had to buddy up with someone

and I went with Anroux from Room 2. Next we were given our Makey Makey and we were told to be

VERY CAREFUL and then we were off.

We unpackaged the Makey Makey, read the instructions and start to make the power source (our

computers) so we got that done and started to read the next step. So we got an alligator clip and attached

it to myself  went on to the Makey Makey Bongos website touch the makey makey and it made

BONGO NOISES. I next tried the piano website and started to play Mary Had a Little Lamb on the

Makey Makey. Then I had a genius idea … GET TIN FOIL. So I got tin foil and 2 pencils and a few

alligator clips, so I laid out a sheet of tin foil and connected the alligator clips to the pencils and tapped the

pencil and it made a piano noise.

In the next two minutes the bell rang so we had to pack up as usual. When Wolfe and Tay came I talk

about everything but  they didn’t really care so they packed up and so did I.

 

friday discovery Just dance

This Friday I did just dance for Discovery so that's where I went. Me and my friends

Tay and Wolfe join in with, which we all way do when we do just dance. So we were late because in the first place I wanted do scratch but I couldn't because I

had to be there at the very beginning. So I just did just dance with my friends.

 So we went over to the hall and go started, the first song was a song I didn’t no

the song of but I still did it. The next song was one we do all the time waka waka

but me and my did something dumb. We laid on the floor and did the dance moves

until we go told to stand up. We did lots of songs but my favorite was Rasputin

what is my favorite song and I waited along time for  that song to play, the three

thing I like about Rasputin 1. I like the song, 2. is along song and 3. the dance

moves are

hard and I like hard but not too hard. Song after song I dance and dance until I sit

one out. 

When I sat it one out the thing didn’t no was that it was the last song. So when it

was finished we had to pack up and it was also the end of discovery. So we packed

up everything and went in to our class lines and that was the end of discovery.

My Friday Discovery Adventure

One Friday I decided to make slime for Discovery. At first I thought that it would

be a long time but it was not that long. First I got put into a group of four. Once

that was done I was ready for action and so was my group (of little kids).

We were firstly given a cup (to make our slime in). We waited for the girls who

were organizing it to pour the PVA glue into the cup. When they had we had to

WAIT again for them to poor the borax in to make into slime. Once that was

done we had turns stirring it around to make it into slime and it was ONLY

TWO INGREDIENTS!!! When it was done we had a play with it and were given bags to put it in but their wasn't enough, so we had to get more from the office.

After that it was pretty good (playing with slime) but the total amount of time

was about 40 mins. I had a talk to the group that we all could have our own slime so we didn't have to share over and over and over. In the end it was just mix PVA glue and borax together.

Lockdown learning from home

I started learning from home early because my parent Knew it was coming and

the next day, everyone went into Lockdown. So when I start learning from

home thought it would be hard but was pretty decent some tasks were hard and

some task were easy but it was strange. The meetings were weird and fantasy

friday costumes were super CrAzY.

Learning from home was very fun but not able to see my friend that was sad.

Learning from was also good because I got to have a sleep in every day and

no rush to get to school because there is no school but I still I had home

school. All the task were fun and decent for my age but not able to play on the

playground or play with my friend. The one thing I wanted to do in lockdown

was see my friend and my other family members.

Lockdown was practically a holiday but not able to leave home only able to

see my friends on messenger. I do home school in comfortable places like the

couch my bed my been bag. I also so get to play when I wanted a break but I

also have to do my work with my brothers and they can be very annoying but I

can be annoying to them. After all it was a good lock many because I had a try

at home school and it was a  kind of a holiday and that is the end of my lock

down learning from home.

The Moana triathlon

The moana triathlon

On monday 16 of march me and my friends did the moana triathlon. We did it as a team so Wolfe did the run Tay and I did the swim. We did a run on what we had to do after that we had something do eat.

We all sat down and talk while we waited for our run. We peled acorns in the meanwhile and watched people do their race. Finally it was our race time we were told to line up and where to go. When Wolfe had started I cheered him on once. I keep cheering Wolfe on but I had realized that he had finished his race and it was Tays turn so I waited for Tay. I saw Tay running towards so I got ready and when Tay slapped my hand I Sprinted for the pool. I jumped into the pool swam as fast as I can, I did four laps of the of the pool and I ran outside to the flag I was done and dusted.


  I went and go and get my towle and then I went to talked to my Mum. After that one of the teacher's said come to me if your going home or back to school. My Mum said that I could go home and stay with her and I said YES. So I went home and my Mum got me a treat.

My First Fun Week in Moana Learning Hub

My First Fun Week in Moana Learning Hub

My first week in Moana Learning Hub as been super fun because I have been mostly doing art witch super fun. It as been incredibel been a year six in moana learning Hub because I get to go surfing yay. I also can wait for school camp because is going to be super fun.

Being a year six is fun as because I'm a role model. I have been doing quick write witch i get always existed about especially the one I did today unicorns VS Dragons and more.  The art I have been do is my portrait which is a drawing of me, collaborative art ever does a piece of one big piece and goal art witch is our goals. Silent reading time I love because i'm reading a book called the solar system witch is about space. I also have this thing call buzz groups witch is when  we all work together otherwise if we don't we mess up.

 2020 is my last year at wainui beach school so I'm sad that I have to leave all these Amazing teachers and that's why year six is so fun.

Swimming Sports

Swimming sports

We arrived at Enterprise Swimming sports. We went in to the changing rooms got changed and we went out and sat down. we waited for our to benames to called. My name got called in about 5 mins time so I and some other kids once the teacher pressed the button I dived in and and swam  100m of freestyle. It was a little bit hard but I still did it.

I went and sat down again but as so as I sat down I called to do backstroke so I went off and and did it again went the teacher press the button and off I went and did it but I came last place but I didn't really care so I went off and sat down. about 5 mins later I I was called to do breaststroke again  I went out and did it once I go to the end I thought that I came second place but I came for fourth place so I went an sat down for the teacher to do finley's. When that was done I got dressed.

We all went outside and had something to eat and waited for the bus. It took about 5 mins  and we went back to school.
